A History Of The World Through Medicine

Welcome

On this website I will explain how medicine has affected history and its people. I will explain the history through six time periods starting with the foundational then the classical period, post classical, early modern era, the age of revolution, to the modern era.
Medicine is the science and art of healing. It includes a variety of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness. Before scientific medicine, healing arts were practices with “Eastern Medicine”, typically traditional, or story-told practices. Contemporary medicine applies health science, research, and medical technology to diagnose and help or cure injury and disease, mostly through medication, surgery, or therapy.
Prehistoric medicine incorporated plants (herbalism), animal parts and minerals. In cases these materials were used by priests, shamans, and medicine men to magically treat people. Well known spiritual systems are animism, spiritualism, shamanism, and divination. Medical anthropology examines ways in which culture and society impact issues of health, health care and related issues.
Question that I want to answer on this site are:
Has the medicine a civilization used actually worked?
How has the different types of medicines affect people on how they think of health?
Why has medicinal changes occurred in certain regions throughout history?
How has the different types of medicine a civilization has affected its history?
